Many time attack vehicles use these coils and one example is the M-Speed R34 GT-R.
"A revolution in ignition technology!!
The Plasma Direct is the ignition coil with a high power amplifier built in to it.
The Plasma Directs produce 4 times more spark energy than stock coils and also generate an ultra fast multi spark discharge of 10 sparks up to highest RPM.
The spark amperage is increased 100%, allowing the spark to reach many more molecules and therefore accelerate the ignition and combustion process. This is extremely important in forced induction applications but also improves the performance of normally aspirated engines.
The Plasma Direct will increase horsepower and torque throughout the entire rpm range. This upgrade will also reduce fuel consumption. Even the engines with a legendary smoothness will be further refined with the Plasma Direct upgrade. Our Plasma Directs are OBD II compliant.
Installation is easy. Direct bolt-in to the engine, no splicing or cutting into stock wiring, simply replace the stock coils with our Plasma Direct Coils and ready to go!
Highlights
・100% secondary current (Spark Amperage) increase
・4 Times Spark Energy Increase for the initial spark discharge
・Easy installation. Only replace stock coils to Plasma Direct.
・Compatible with all OEM components
・Compatible with OBD-II (On-Board-Diagnostics)"

Bro, learned a new thing today. Didn't know about Okada Plasma Direct Ignition Coils until today. Great stuffs!
Actually what's the main benefit of having this fitted over the Spitfire ones? As in, do you actually feel the difference behind the wheel/seat of pants or whatever?
Excuse the n00b Q.
Admin contact,
Umm, these ones have a built in power amplifier whereas the Splitfire ones don't. Many people use an amplifier like the HKS Twin Power with the Splitfire.
I've got the HKS Twin Power, so do I need Spitfire or Utada Hikaru coils?
Razlan Radzi,
I think you'd have to go for the Splitfire. The 'Utada Hikaru' ignition coils already have amplifiers built in them. I don't know if they'll take an external amplifier with them. *laughs*
So after installed it, you felt any difference and need to tune your ECU again?
If you don't mind, where you get it from and how much is it for gTR34?
David,
Ideally, you should tune again but I have not done so.
Car feels smoother.
I got these from N1 Racing. They're around RM3k+ for BNR34.
