The official website of Kodansha Comics has announced on Saturday that a theatrical film based on Michiharu Kusunoki's Wangan Midnight street-racing manga will open in Japan this summer. Like the previous television anime and video features, Wangan Midnight the Movie will center on a young man named Akio who salvages "Devil Z," a custom-tuned Datsun Fairlady S30Z car with a supposedly cursed history.

Actually, I think there was a live action movie made in 1991. Thankfully, this production is Japanese so no Jay Chow and Edison bullshit screwing the whole movie up. *laughs*

looks like they changed a few cars.. his mechanic drives an FD instead of an FC, the hot model babe Drives an R34 instead of and R32 and the photographer drives a yellow Ferrari instead of a white one!

Hello Renaye, thanks for stopping by. Yes, there are plenty of books, comics and anime that are heading to the big screen. I guess with all the technology available now, it's easier to make them. So far from the trailer, it's looking pretty good. =)
