I've just discovered my trusty Sony DSC-T70 which I bought in December last year is broken! I fell on Saturday and it must have damaged the touch screen. I left it with Noelle so I didn't realize it was damaged. After getting it back today, Sam told me something is wrong with the camera. I turned it on and I was greeted with a white screen and a nice crack across.
This camera has served me well in the past year. It's really sad to see it gone.
Screen is gone.
It still takes pictures but it doesn't even show up right.
So, should I get another point and shoot camera, or go for a DSLR? Trouble is, I would very much like to have both. *laughs*

By the way, your camera no warrantly? try to use back hahaha cause your camera still new but DSLR more good hahaha
cheers:)
Warranty is limited to manufacturing defects. It doesn't cover damage caused by use.
Yeap just remind it. This camera it easy to carry everywhere but DSLR is very bulky even it fuction is good=p
why not get a semi one? russ is using that BUT then, it's bulky la.. that is why i'm using the sony :P~ AND most of the time russ always use mine as i always carry the camera in my bag! :)
prince,
No offense but, I think I should know such basic things shouldn't I? I mean, you're making me look like a fool who doesn't know to check the manufacturers warranty or not know what having a DSLR is like. Thanks but I think I know what I'm doing.
Cheers =)
Hey :: nicole ::
I was thinking of getting one like Russ's actually before I found out my point and shoot was broken. An Olympus E-520. I wanted to have both a DSLR and a point and shoot for those random moments. Unfortunately, now it looks like I have to get a new point and shoot so...
opps.... sorry for my silly question but i don't mean like that, hope you don't mind.:)
damn crack looks bad. can it be repaired?
since we're talking abt camera's, im considering a sony a200. its an entry level slr - good enuff for cam whoring sceneries and cars.
and as for mobility - a 3 to 5 mp phone camera is good enuff for me. pic file size would be perfect too for blogs :)
prince,
No worries, cheers.
zul,
I think it can be repaired, it's just it will cost a lot here in US as their labour charges can be quite high.
My housemate has the Sony α (alpha) DSLR-A300. It's a pretty nice camera I must say.
I'm dreaming of the Sony Alpha too but budget does not permit now. :(
leo, can consider the middle ground of prosumer cameras from Nikon or Canon.
